Guatemala

If you are looking for culture, Guatemala is for you. Perhaps the most indigenous of all Latin American countries, the Mayan influence can be seen everywhere in this enchanted land.

Many people come to Guatemala to study Spanish, and with good reason.  Prices here are more affordable than other Central American countries.

Extremely rich and extremely poor.  There are parts of Guatemala city that appear about as first world as anywhere else in Latin America, but there are also rural areas where poverty is rampant.  Guatemalan people can be among the nicest people on the planet, but they can also be very shy.
